In the sought-after coastal suburb of Cottesloe, WA, practicality met style in a simple but brilliant decision — remove one set of internal stairs and replace it with a beautifully integrated ElfoLift. That’s exactly what the owners of this stylish multi-level home chose to do, and the results speak for themselves.
With two staircases originally occupying valuable space, the removal of one made perfect sense, particularly when the vacant space offered the perfect footprint for a full-sized residential lift. The homeowners worked closely with Lift Shop to ensure the new vertical access solution blended flawlessly with the home’s existing layout and modern design ethos.
The result: a spacious 1100mm wide x 1400mm deep ElfoLift with a robust 350kg load capacity, more than enough to comfortably accommodate passengers, luggage, or mobility equipment — and ideal for long-term living in place.
To match the clean, contemporary interiors, the cabin was finished using materials from Lift Shop’s standard range, including anodised aluminium doors fitted with full-size clear glass panels. For added privacy and visual softness, a locally applied frosting effect was added to the glass — ensuring light could still pass through without compromising discretion.
From both a design and functionality perspective, the lift feels like it has always belonged in the home. This lift finishes and configuration tie in seamlessly with the home’s palette and architectural lines, offering a smooth ride, timeless aesthetic, and undeniable convenience.
