It’s not uncommon for clients to tell us they’re installing a lift not out of immediate need, but for future peace of mind — and this beautifully renovated home in Noosaville is the perfect example. The owners took a proactive approach during their renovation, deciding to integrate a lift now rather than retrofit one later. The result? A functional, stylish inclusion that enhances liveability without compromising the home’s distinct architectural charm.
Designed by Andrew McKellar Design and built by Benco Constructions, this project focused on maintaining the property’s character while increasing its long-term practicality. The E1 elevator was installed in a thoughtful, discreet location that seamlessly connects the different wings of the home — offering convenience now and assurance for the future.
The design intent was clear: let the lift blend in quietly with its surroundings. That goal was fully achieved through a clean, tonal palette. The doors, glass panels, cabin walls, and ceiling were all finished in crisp white — tying effortlessly into the home’s light-filled interior and iconic coastal styling. This uniformity allowed the lift to fade into the background visually, while still delivering exceptional performance and access.
Though subtle, the lift’s impact is significant. It enables effortless movement between levels, future-proofs the home for changing needs, and adds considerable value — all without altering the look and feel that the owners worked so hard to preserve.
This project stands as a reminder that the best time to install a lift is often when renovating, not when it’s needed most. By planning ahead, the owners have created a more functional home that will support them well into the future.
