IN THE past, a sloping block of land may have deterred some and resulted in a smaller scale home to minimise the number of stairs. Not so any more – with the growing acceptance and awareness of the home lift market, designers and home owners alike are loving the possibilities now available.
A case in point was this new four level home in Brisbane’s Ashgrove with a centrally located opposite through car ElfoLift and glass shaft. To maximise the light and outlook provided by the glass shaft, the landing doors and one cabin wall were also fitted with full size transparent glass. The steel shaft was powdercoated in RAL 9006 to provide an almost identical match to the anodised aluminium doors and the profiles inside the cabin were done in brushed stainless steel for an elegant and classy contrast.
