A Modern Touch
THE SAINT Ignatius Parish Church in Brisbane’s Toowong was needing an access solution that would tie in with their existing brick heritage style building. After close collaboration with the clients and the builder, Lift Shop provided an 1100 x 1400 single entry 630kg Supermec installed into a purpose built brick shaft that looked like it had always been there.

To minimise space, the controller was installed alongside the landing doors at the upper level (the Supermec is machine room less – MRL).

The lift consisted of polished stainless steel profiles and brushed stainless steel cabin walls, both cabin and landing doors were also in brushed stainless steel with clear panoramic glass panels. The flooring was grey non slip Pirelli rubber and the ceiling white skinplate with Labarint pattern.

For compliance, the lift was also fitted with dual car operating panels (with multi-vision display) and also handrails to both sides.

These clean simple finishes overall provided a nice modern touch to this older style complex.
