Home Lift Design FAQs

+

What door styles are available for a Lift Shop home lift?

Lift Shop supplies aluminium swing doors, steel swing doors and automatic sliding doors. Swing doors open onto the landing and come in solid panels, clear glass or tinted glass. Sliding doors operate inside the shaft in stainless steel, framed glass or frameless glass. Aluminium is the Lift Shop standard because it is lighter, quieter and more precise than steel.

Can I choose my own cabin finishes?

Yes. Every Lift Shop lift is custom built, so cabin walls, flooring, handrails, lighting and controls are specified per project. Clients regularly supply their own stone or timber flooring so the cabin floor matches the landing floor. Bronze, Brass and Titanium Grey Italian cabin finishes were added for 2026.

How much does a luxury home lift cost in Australia?

Most Lift Shop clients invest between $60,000 and $120,000. The final figure depends on the number of levels, whether you choose swing or sliding doors, the cabin size and the finishes specified. Custom scaffolding and an 8-year warranty are included as standard rather than charged as extras.

Can a home lift be made to match my existing interior?

Yes. The most effective approach is to match the cabin floor to the landing floor and select a door finish that reads as joinery rather than as a lift. Mirror or glass rear walls make compact cabins feel larger. The case studies on this page show the same A Series lift finished six different ways.

How many levels can a Lift Shop home lift serve?

Lift Shop home lifts serve two to six levels. Cabin capacity ranges from a compact single person cabin up to seven persons, and ceiling heights are above the industry standard. Every shaft is measured on site and the lift is built to that measurement.

Can I see a finished lift before I buy?

Yes. Lift Shop operates showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra, plus Los Angeles under the Elevator Boutique name. You can ride the lifts, compare aluminium against steel doors side by side and handle the actual finishes. Appointments are recommended and virtual appointments are available.

Do you have case studies near me?

The Australian case studies on this page cover Sydney suburbs including Cremorne, Fairlight, Cronulla, Gladesville, Strathfield, Darling Point, Connells Point and Caringbah South, Victorian projects in Kew, Balwyn, Caulfield North and Ocean Grove, plus Thirroul in the Illawarra and Port Douglas in Far North Queensland.

What is new for 2026?

Two additions. Bronze, Brass and Titanium Grey Italian cabin finishes are now available across The Range, and hands-free operation is available as an option on sliding door lifts, letting you call the lift with a gesture rather than a button.

Can I visit a showroom without an appointment, and what will I see?

We recommend booking an appointment so our designers can spend time with you personalising your options and answering detailed questions. Walk-ins are sometimes possible, but availability can be limited. Booking ahead ensures you receive expert guidance rather than a rushed visit.

At our showrooms in Sydney (Pagewood), Melbourne (Richmond), Brisbane (Eagle Farm), Perth (Belmont), and Canberra, you will see, touch, and ride fully installed Lift Shop lifts. You can experience cabin finishes, door operations, lighting, flooring, and safety features firsthand. Book your visit through our website or by calling your nearest showroom for a convenient time.

Can I speak to past customers or see installs similar to my home style?

Yes. We maintain a portfolio of real installations across different home styles, budgets, and Australian regions. Our designers can show you installations matched to your home's architectural style, whether contemporary, traditional, heritage-restored, or modern minimalist.

We also connect interested customers with past clients who have agreed to share their experience. Speaking directly to a homeowner who has lived with their lift for several years provides invaluable insights into daily use, reliability, and long-term satisfaction. Our showroom team can facilitate these connections and share case studies of similar installations in your area.

What should I bring to a showroom visit?

Bring any architectural or structural plans of your home so our designers can assess shaft requirements and integration points. Photographs of the proposed lift location are also helpful. If you have a preferred door type (swing or sliding) or cabin finish in mind, share those preferences.

Note the dimensions of your available space if you have already measured, and bring details of power supply location and accessibility constraints. A list of questions you have prepared will help us provide targeted answers. We will also gather information about your home's construction, structural capabilities, and any heritage or building code considerations that might affect installation.

Where are Lift Shop showrooms located in Australia?

We operate five showrooms across Australia's major metropolitan areas: Sydney (Pagewood), Melbourne (Richmond), Brisbane (Eagle Farm), Perth (Belmont), and Canberra. Each showroom features fully operational lifts across all our series so you can compare models directly.

We also have a showroom in Los Angeles for international clients. For regional customers, we offer remote consultations via video conference and can arrange site visits by our design and engineering team. Contact us through our website or phone to find your nearest showroom or to arrange a consultation.
