Fourteen A Series Home Lifts in an Altona Townhouse Development

Altona, Melbourne

One lift for each of fourteen homes

Lift Shop installed fourteen A Series home lifts in an Altona townhouse development in Melbourne, one for every home. Each lift serves three or four levels, so each owner reaches every floor of a multi-storey townhouse without climbing a stair.

Fourteen townhouses, fourteen lifts. The development is a row of multi-storey homes in timber screens and dark cladding, and every one of them has its own lift from the ground floor up. A townhouse of that height asks a lot of every owner, every day. A lift answers it from the day the keys change hands, and it keeps the home usable for as long as the owner wants to stay.

What builders and developers gain

Fourteen lifts on one site is a program of work. The same lift type and the same swing doors go into every home, so the builder deals with one specification, not fourteen. Each buyer gets the same result.

The lift door sits at the edge of the room, set into the wall beside the window. It reads as a door, not as equipment, and the room around it stays whole.

That position matters. Shopping, luggage and guests arrive at the ground floor and travel up without meeting a step. Open living areas sit on one level and bedrooms on another, and the lift joins them.

Two stages, one specification

The lifts were ordered in two stages. Five were ordered in 2022 and handed over in November 2024. The other nine were ordered in 2024 and handed over between June and August 2025.

Staged work only succeeds when the specification stays identical from the first lift to the last. Here it did. Nine of the homes have four stops and five have three, because the townhouses differ in height, and the same A Series lift fits each of them.

Our Lift Consultants work with builders and developers from the first plans through every handover. Each lift carries our 8-year warranty.

Lift Shop has installed 12,000+ home lifts since 1996. Fourteen in one development is a real test of that experience, from the shaft planning to the final handover. The owners get fourteen lifts that behave the same way, and the builder gets one team to call.

Why it works for a development

One lift per home

Every townhouse has its own lift, so no owner shares access or waits for a neighbour.

One specification, fourteen times

The same lift type and swing doors in every home keep the build simple and the result consistent.

Three or four stops

The same A Series lift serves a three level or a four level townhouse without changing the design.
