Matt black behind a white door

Lift Shop installed an E Series home lift in South Yarra. White frosted glass doors keep the landings soft, then open on a matt black cabin with a full-height mirror.

This newly finished five-bedroom home includes a pool, a wine cellar for more than 400 bottles, CCTV security and secure parking for up to five cars off the rear lane. It was built to a standard where every detail counts, close to Hawksburn and the Royal Botanic Gardens. A lift was planned in from the start, so the home works as well for a family with young children as it will for the years ahead.

The E Series

A cabin with contrast

The cabin walls and ceiling are matt black Skinplate. A full-height mirror covers the rear wall and doubles the sense of space. Brushed stainless trims and a vertical control panel frame the black.

Outside, the landing doors are white aluminium with frosted glass, a soft face for the hallway that hides the dark cabin until the door opens.

Upgraded to the custom range

The owners upgraded to the custom range to get exactly this mix of finishes. In Cabin Self Rescue and a GSM emergency phone are standard.

The builder constructed a masonry shaft to our drawings.
