Watsons Bay, Sydney

A harbourside home, two easy levels

Lift Shop installed a 2-level home lift in Watsons Bay, at the tip of Sydney's South Head. Frosted glass swing doors open on a cabin finished entirely in Skinplate.

The home looks across the water to the Sydney skyline, with wide openings to terraces and a harbour that fills every room with light. Living is set over two levels at the edge of the harbour. A home lift keeps those views within easy reach for everyone, from grandparents to young children.

The lift

Skinplate all around

All three cabin walls are Italian Skinplate, a fine textured steel. The vertical control panel is Skinplate too, with a white ceiling and LED lighting above.

An aluminium handrail runs along the cabin. Frosted glass swing doors let light into the hallway while keeping the cabin private.

Built to last

The lift was installed in 2015 and has served the house ever since. The builder constructed the shaft to our drawings, and regular servicing keeps it running smoothly.

A generous 1200 mm square cabin leaves room for a wheelchair or a pram.
