Improving access and ease of movement in a two-level home can dramatically transform daily living — and that was precisely the goal for this elegant residence in Melbourne. The owners, working alongside their builder and Lift Shop’s expert Melbourne showroom team, developed a solution that maximised comfort, efficiency, and style.
From the outset, space utilisation and design continuity were top priorities. The final outcome — a 1100mm wide x 1200mm deep cabin with a generous 350kg load capacity — allows for comfortable travel for four or more people. The layout strikes the perfect balance between functionality and spatial harmony, without compromising interior flow or aesthetic appeal.
Inside the lift cabin, the selected finishes reflect the home’s broader design palette. Two walls were clad in Arpa’s high gloss 2206 VG LUC laminate, lending a refined and contemporary touch. A full-sized mirror on the rear wall adds depth and light, enhancing the sense of space. The sleek brushed stainless steel profiles, combined with durable black studded rubber flooring, complete the look — understated, sophisticated, and built to last.
For a truly cohesive appearance, the landing and cabin doors were finished in F41PPS film-wrapped skinplate, carefully colour-matched to blend with the surrounding architecture. Special consideration was given to minimizing visual impact — door frames were discreetly concealed within the wall cavities, and landing call buttons were wall-mounted independently of the door jambs. This detailing delivers an uncluttered, integrated look that keeps the focus on the home’s design features, not its infrastructure.
