Elegance and Access in Harmony: ElfoLift Transforms an Albert Park Terrace

In Melbourne’s iconic Albert Park, where heritage charm meets contemporary flair, one stately terrace home has undergone a sensitive and sophisticated transformation. Already modernised in many ways over the years, the only missing piece was a convenient way to move between the two main living levels — without sacrificing space or style.

Fortunately, a thoughtfully positioned rear alcove provided the perfect location to introduce a sleek, light-filled access solution. Lift Shop worked with the homeowners to install an opposite through car ElfoLift 2 housed in a custom-designed glass shaft. The addition not only solved the practical challenge of vertical movement but also complemented the existing structure with refined, architectural harmony.

The lift’s finishes were chosen to balance classic and modern elements. The landing and cabin doors feature three-piece side sliding brushed stainless steel framing paired with glass panels, offering transparency and clean visual lines throughout the shaft. Inside the cabin, one wall is finished in F12PPS Similinox — a brushed steel effect skinplate — while the opposite wall is a full-size panel of clear glass, opening up views of the landscaped backyard and allowing natural light to flood in.

The ceiling adds a stylish touch with its crisp white finish

and DAMA pattern, softly illuminated by integrated diffused lighting. Tiled flooring grounds the space, tying into the home’s broader interior material palette and enhancing the overall sense of elegance and polish.
