In Melbourne’s prestigious suburb of Toorak, attention to detail is expected — and this home’s custom-finished ElfoLift 2 is no exception. What began as a full galvanised steel fit-out provided by Lift Shop quickly transformed into a personalised design statement thanks to the vision and direction of the owner/designer.
The lift was supplied in a galvanised finish throughout — including the doors, cabin walls, ceiling, and profiles. This clean slate provided the ultimate blank canvas, allowing the client full creative freedom to bring their vision to life.
Knowing exactly what aesthetic would suit the home, the owner went to work transforming the lift’s surfaces. All doors and the custom car operating panel were professionally powdercoated in black or white to create a sleek, monochromatic palette that mirrored the home’s broader interior style. The cabin walls were finished in rich timber panelling, introducing natural warmth and texture, while the ceiling was redesigned with a drop-down timber detail and LED surround lighting — creating a soft, ambient glow and high-end finish.
The lift’s impressive 2200mm ceiling height enhanced the sense of volume and spaciousness, making the cabin feel more like a luxury room than a mechanical enclosure. The floor was tiled in the same elegant material used throughout the rest of the home, maintaining visual continuity and elevating the sense of seamless integration.
