This expansive and thoughtfully designed City Beach residence in Perth was built with convenience and architectural impact in mind — and that’s exactly why the E1 swing door home elevator was chosen to anchor its core vertical flow.
Collaborating closely with the owners and architect, the goal was clear: integrate the lift as a functional centrepiece that complements the home’s standout architectural features. With a wraparound glass staircase facing a panoramic glass wall overlooking the pool, this home captures natural light and design fluidity at every turn.
One of the most striking aspects of this installation is the way the lift appears to be floating within an indoor pond. At the lower level, access to the cabin is provided via large, floating stepping tiles — creating a dramatic, water-inspired entry that greets visitors the moment they walk through the front door. It’s a space that feels more like a sculptural installation than a traditional home elevator.
The E1 lift features a single-entry configuration with anodised aluminium doors — durable, clean-lined, and visually discreet. Inside, the cabin is clad in Similinox F12PPS skinplate walls, offering a refined metallic look with low maintenance requirements. Polished stainless steel profiles add a layer of sleek sophistication, catching light and accentuating the cabin’s crisp lines.
The generous cabin size of 1250mm x 1190mm provides comfort and accessibility, while the 5678mm travel distance ensures smooth movement between floors with minimal visual interruption.
This project showcases what happens when high design and thoughtful lift planning intersect — resulting in a showpiece that feels both sculptural and functional. It’s an elegant fusion of water, glass, and metal that transforms vertical movement into an experience.
