Sometimes, the only thing standing between a beloved family home and long-term liveability is a few flights of stairs. That was the case for this multi-level residence in Sylvania Waters, where the homeowners — while still loving the space and location — found that navigating their four-level split design was becoming increasingly difficult. Fortunately, with vision, planning, and Lift Shop’s expert support, a smart solution was just a conversation away.
The owners turned to Lift Shop after seeing several of our successful case studies on similar retrofits. Encouraged by our track record, they felt confident in moving forward with an adjacent through car ElfoLift, designed specifically to meet the dimensions and traffic flow of their home. With a cabin size of 1100mm wide x 1120mm deep, the lift offers ample space while maintaining the compact footprint necessary for an existing home installation.
After collaboratively identifying the most practical location for the shaft, work began — including excavation, jackhammering, and minor demolition. The home’s existing brick veneer construction presented a unique challenge, but Lift Shop provided a smart engineering solution: a steel ladder-type load-bearing wall. This modular support system offered the necessary structural integrity without major changes to the home’s footprint. While site preparations progressed, the ElfoLift was being manufactured to specification at our purpose-built factory in Italy. Once ready, all lift components were delivered to site — sized for easy transport through standard doorways. Within just a few weeks, the lift was installed, commissioned, and fully operational.
