Irish-Inspired Renovation: Custom ElfoLift for a Character-Filled Brisbane Home

When our imaginative Brisbane client set out to renovate his home, he had a very personal design brief in mind: to bring a touch of old-world Irish charm into a modern Queensland setting. For him, that meant warm textures, classic finishes, and design choices that celebrated character over conformity. As part of that vision, he needed a lift that could seamlessly integrate into his décor, while offering everyday ease and convenience — and he found exactly what he was looking for at Lift Shop’s showroom inside the Brisbane Build and Design Centre.

After discussions with our expert sales and design team, the client selected a two-level, single entry ElfoLift — the perfect solution for compact accessibility. What made this project special, however, was the high level of customisation. The interior of the lift was finished in DT29 Beige skinplate for both the walls and ceiling, creating a warm, inviting feel that fit beautifully within the home’s theme. The landing doors were finished in a soft, light powdercoat to complement the surrounding palette without drawing too much attention.

The upper level lift entrance was where the magic really came to life. Opening directly into a timber-accented living room — complete with a centrally positioned, well-stocked bar — the shaft was trimmed in matching timber, ensuring that the lift felt like a continuation of the room, not an interruption. Downstairs, a custom-built raised platform was constructed to create a level foyer and pit for the lift, ensuring smooth transitions and discreet integration of the machine cabinet area.
