When industry leaders Metricon Builders set out to deliver a standout new residence in Sydney’s prestigious North Shore/Lane Cove region, they knew the lift needed to be more than just functional — it had to elevate the home’s architectural narrative. Their search for the right fit ended with Lift Shop’s ElfoLift, a perfect match for the project’s clean, modern aesthetic and refined detailing.
The home’s central feature — a glass-sided lift shaft adjoining a timber staircase — called for a lift that would complement, not compete. The ElfoLift delivered, with a cabin fit-out designed for transparency, reflection, and seamless integration. One wall of the cabin is constructed from full-height glass and paired with a sleek brushed stainless steel handrail. The rear wall features a full-length mirror to amplify light and space, while another wall is finished in brushed stainless steel — creating a subtle interplay with the polished stainless steel corner profiles and car operating panel.
Above, the ceiling features our distinctive Universal pattern stainless steel light diffuser — a soft, ambient touch that illuminates the cabin without visual clutter. The floor was custom-tiled by the owner, ensuring that the lift’s base matched the surrounding interior palette for a fluid, integrated feel. This level of personalisation is a hallmark of our residential lifts, allowing homeowners and builders to create bespoke spaces with true design alignment.
Further enhancing the visual connectivity of the home, polished stainless steel doors with panoramic clear glass panels allow natural light to pour through the shaft, transforming it into a vertical light well that brightens the core of the residence. It’s proof that with the right choices, a lift can be as much a design feature as it is a utility.
