When this mid-century style home nestled in the Hollywood Hills underwent modernisation, the owners seized an inspiring opportunity: to transform the original circular lift shaft into a stunning blend of vintage architecture and contemporary luxury. Rather than abandon the classic shaft, they collaborated with Lift Shop to deliver a highly customised E2 elevator that would complement both the property's heritage and its contemporary upgrades.
The original circular shaft, rare and character-laden, became the canvas for our size-to-suit E2 lift, configured flawlessly to match the curved envelope. The result is a seamless marriage of form and function: polished stainless steel swing doors open into a cabin with three mirrored walls, heightening both light and space perception. The full-height mirrors create a jewel-box effect that reflects the geometric stone flooring and textured wall finishes surrounding the shaft.
Outside, the stainless steel shine contrasts beautifully with the earthy tones of the home's stone facade and angular textures. Inside, the mirrored surfaces and brushed profiles lend a tailored precision to every ride. With finishes selected to honour the house's original ambition while elevating its presentation, this install captures what modern residential lifts can achieve when guided by thoughtful design.
