The Maroubra home spans multiple levels, necessitating a reliable and elegant lift solution that blends harmoniously with the residence’s contemporary interiors. The client’s vision was clear: the elevator had to be spacious enough for comfortable use, finished with premium materials, and feature a door system that would suit the flow of the home’s layout.

With these priorities in mind, the E2 Sliding Door lift with centre opening doors was selected for its sleek design, smooth operation, and ability to be customised to exacting standards. The double-door configuration ensures easy access from both sides, an important consideration given the home’s open-plan layout and traffic flow.

Challenges and Design Considerations

One of the key challenges involved integrating the lift within the home’s architectural framework without interrupting the spatial continuity or detracting from the carefully chosen interior finishes. The client also requested bespoke flooring inside the lift cabin to match the home’s unique flooring, which required close collaboration with the Lift Shop design team to achieve a flawless fit and finish.

Additionally, selecting finishes that balanced durability with luxury was critical. The lift had to withstand everyday use while maintaining its sophisticated appeal over time.

Tailored Solution: The Custom E2 Lift

The final design features centre opening sliding doors finished in RAL 9003 Matt Smooth, delivering a minimalist yet elegant façade that blends seamlessly with the home’s décor. The choice of this subtle white tone adds brightness and clean lines to the lift entrance, complementing other architectural elements.

Inside the cabin, the walls are clad with RHS Arpa 0509, a premium surface renowned for its refined texture and modern appeal. The rear wall is fitted with a full-length mirror that visually expands the cabin space while adding a touch of glamour. The left side wall carries on the Arpa 0509 finish to maintain a cohesive, polished environment.

The cabin’s profiles, car operating panel (COP), and ceiling are all finished in RAL 9004 Matt Smooth, a deep, sophisticated grey that contrasts beautifully with the lighter walls and adds depth to the interior. This matte finish also helps minimize fingerprints and smudges, supporting easy maintenance.

The client’s bespoke flooring choice inside the cabin was expertly integrated, ensuring perfect alignment and flow with the home’s existing floors—an important detail that elevates the lift’s presence as an integral design feature rather than a standalone element.
