Nestled in the intimate courtyard outside the dining room of a beautifully renovated Toorak home, the inclusion of an E2 private elevator with glass shaft was both elegant and discreet. The owners selected finishes that turned this elevator into a design statement, while perfectly matching the refined décor of the home. The shaft was powder‑coated in smooth matte and clad entirely in transparent glass—creating a visual link between interior and courtyard, and inviting natural light into the space.
Each stop features frameless glass doors, powder‑coated in soft Signal White, offering unobstructed views of the courtyard and garden beyond. Inside the cabin, the rear and right-hand walls are also transparent glass, while the left-hand wall features Avorio PPS11 skinplate for warmth and tactile contrast. Polished stainless steel profiles and trims anchor the look, while the cabin size of 1100 mm by 1400 mm ensures ample space. With a travel height of 3320 mm and smooth electric operation, this is accessibility as architecture.
Rather than hidden, this lift was integrated as a visible element of the design. Positioned adjacent to wraparound stairs, it serves the home with a quiet, elegant presence and has become a focal point in its own right. The symmetry of glass, steel and soft neutral skinplate creates cohesion and reflects the owner’s refined taste.
